Isaiah Whitehead Lists Offers, Interest
Syracuse, St. John's, Arizona and Pittsburgh have all offered the 2014 guard.
There have been a couple of high profile names to come out of Lincoln High School - namely Sebastian Telfair and Lance Stephenson. Isaiah Whitehead figures to be the next highly-regarded prospect, viewed as one of top sophomores in the country.
With the ability to knock down perimeter jumpers and slash to the tin, he has already earned a quartet of offers from high major schools. Arizona, Syracuse, St. John's and Pittsburgh have all offered.
With continued showing, he can very well earned more. Right now, Kentucky, UConn, North Carolina, Florida State, Georgetown and Louisville have all expressed interest.
Among those, the one common factor in Whitehead's opinion are the coaches.
"They all have desire to win," Whitehead said. "They teach their kids, you can see the improvement from the kids since high school."
Whitehead's ability to put it on the floor and shoot the ball, allows him to fit at mulltiple schools. He isn't particularly looking for a program to that is locked into one specific style of playing.
"I'm looking for a family atmosphere and a balanced stlye of play," Whitehead said.
Whitehead suffered a high ankle sprain this past week in a contest against Boys and Girls High School. Reports say he should be out for the Brooklyn Borough playoffs this week but can return for the PSAL playoffs later this month. He might even be ready for the school's Feb. 21st contest against Kyle Anderson and St. Anthony.
"We're having our ups and downs but we good," Whitehead said before injuring his ankle. "My game is coming along great as long as I'm patient."
Looks like his suitors will have to be patient with the sophomore too.
