Matt Jones will add limitless range and a high basketball IQ to the Blue Devils backcourt.

Head Coach Mike Kryzewski and the Duke Blue Devils received excellent news tonight in the form of a commitment from one of the premier sharp-shooters in America.

6'4" Matt Jones from DeSoto High School in Texas told Five-Star that he, "has confidence in Coach K and the coaching staff" and that "they will make me a better player on and off the court."

It didn't hurt that one of the best three-point bombers in college history played for the Blue Devils.

"He showed me film on how they got J.J. Redick open and how they set screens for him," explained Jones, who has a quick trigger and limitless range himself.

Jones plays AAU for the Texas Titans, who also include highly regarded 6'9" southpaw forward Julius Randle amongst their organization.

"Since it's going to be our last year playing AAU, I'd probably say, 'J, I know your going to miss me but if you come to Duke, you won't have to.' We'd be right there together."

Duke fans can only hope that Jones words prove to be a precursor towards reuniting at Cameron Indoor in the fall of '13.

In the meantime, below is a highlight tape from one of Jones' latest games, in which he scored 29 points on 12-16 shooting from the field.
