Paige Ready to Roll with Britt
2012 Point guard Marcus Paige excited to play with 2013 PG Nate Britt

With two top point guards committed from the 2012 and 2013 classes, there seems to be some potential controversy. The move creates a logjam at the 1 position in the coming years, right?
Wrong, according to Paige.
"I talked to Nate about [committing to UNC] before he did," Paige said. "I think it will really be effective because both of us can run the show or get our own shot, I'm excited for it."
Right now the Tar Heels are excelling under the leadership of point guard Kendall Marshall. Head coach Roy Williams envisions an even better offense with Paige and Britt in uniform.
"He also tells me that the up-tempo style is most effective with multiple ball handlers and guys that know the game," Paige said. "Both of us fit that mold."
In order for the dual point guard lineup to work, one of them will have to be prepared to guard the 2 position. Paige is prepared for that.
"I've gotten better defensively, just playing more physical," Paige said. "Getting lower in my stance and just putting more effort and focus into that end of the floor."
The Marion, Iowa native has been in the gym working on his defense and explosiveness in anticipation of playing in Chapel Hill. Calf raises and a number of single leg exercises are just a sample of what he is doing to get ready.
Still, for many outsiders, having two point guards under 6’2’’ raises questions. Who is going to dominate the ball? Who is going to be off the ball? Who will guard the shooting guard position?
"We got it covered, I'm not too worried about it," Paige said.
