Gabe York is just one of the high-caliber recruits heading to Tucson next year.

Over the course of the college season, Five-Star will be on the grind, gathering recruiting intelligence for some of the nation's premier programs -- outlining each team's current roster and program needs, commitments and signees, and top recruiting targets for the 2012, 2013 and 2014 classes.

Today, we'll peek inside the N.C. State war room and answer the following questions: What are the immediate and longer-term needs? Who are the Wolfpack after? Which players have decided to take their talents to Raleigh?

Current Roster and Program Needs:

Immediate Needs – 2012

  • The Wildcats are in good position for the near future with a number of high-caliber recruits coming in. Kyle Fogg will be graduating and the addition of Gabe York should give the ballers from Tucson a guard rotation of York, Nick Johnson, Jordin Mayes and Josiah Turner. Turner was considered a first round draft choice to start the season but his stock has fallen considerably since then. The frontcourt is loaded, with Tarczewski, Jerrett and Ashley coming in and Angelo Choi and Kyryl Natyazhko expected to return. Ashley is expected to play the 3/4 so he should be sharing time with Solomon Hill.

Longer Term Needs – 2013

  • Hill, Natyazhko and Kevin Parrom will be gone by then but the team might not suffer too much if they can retain a large portion of their current and incoming recruits. Nonetheless, adding Aaron Gordon and Jabari Bird will give them the option of playing natural swingmen. Ashley is still more of a 4 than a 3 and using one of the guards like Johnson would put him out of position. If Turner leaves before then, grabbing a player like Andrew Harrison to play point will be key.

2014 Targets

  • Justice Winslow, 6'6", SF, Houston (Tex.) Saint John's
  • Noah Vonleh, 6'7'', PF, Haverhill (Mass.) New Hampton
  • Tyus Jones, 6'0", PG, Apple Valley (Minn.) Apple Valley
  • Jahlil Okafor, 6'10" C, Chicago (Ill.) Whitney Young
  • Cody Martin, 6'5" SG, Boston (Mass.) Tilton School
