LeBron James Skills Academy Preview
80 top prospects kick off live period in Akron, Ohio
Every year, the LeBron James Skills Academy, held in James' hometown of Akron, Ohio, hosts 80 of the top high school players (and 20 college players) in the country. With the NCAA live recruiting period getting underway today and shorter than ever, the 2011 LeBron Skills Academy will be one of the important events of July.
Headlining the camp this week are some of the premiere talents in basketball across the board. At the top of 2012, Rodney Purvis and his guard buddies from Houston, Rasheed Sulaimon, LJ Rose, and J-Mychal Reese will be setting the tone in the backcourt. Two of the top 2013 players, Julius Randle and Nerlens Noel are in attendance. The 2014 class is stacked with Justin Jackson, Andrew Wiggins, Wayne Selden, Jahlil Okafor, and Dakari Johnson look to make their mark on the camp.
There are dozens more high major prospects in attendance, which should make this camp a great opening to the live period.
