The Basketbull National Invitational tips off today in Springfield, Massachusetts and features some of the best teams in the country.
The field is headlined by New England Playaz, CBC, Expressions Elite, Metro Hawks, and Grassroots Canada in the 17U Bracket. LI Lightning, CT Select, Expressions Elite, New England Playaz and RI Hawks lead the 16U field.
What we are watching for:
New Heights 17U team has dropped out per sources. NE Playaz 16U will compete in both 16 & 17 brackets.
Ricardo Ledo is expected to play Sunday before heading to Peach Jam with the City Rocks.
DaJuan Coleman & Tyler Cavanaugh will play for Albany City Rocks Black 17U before heading to Peach Jam
The CBC roster lists Dunn as attending Wilbraham & Monson prep school in the fall and has TBD listed for Andre Drummond. Rumors have swirled for weeks he left St Thomas Moore and this confirms it. Some believe he will follow Dunn to Wilbraham & Monson or enroll in college in the fall.
Daniel Dingle & Kamari Murphy lead the Long Island Lightning into the Mass Mutual Center hoping to continue their rise up the rankings.
Darren Payen of East Coast Elite Connecticut 17U will look to build on a good spring that saw offers from Holy Cross and Utah State come his way.
Akoosa Maduegbunam of Expressions Elite looks to continue to get noticed. He recently was offered by Penn State and hopes to have more offers soon.
Cane Broome and Jared Terrell look to grow their names after impressive spring seasons for the New England Playaz 16U team
Austin Tilghman, Ben Bentil & Shikei Blake lead the East Coast Elite Delaware 16U team as they compete in the 17U bracket. All 3 are considered talented but relatively underrated.
