CBC's Andre Drummond impressed today in Vegas

Here are today's standouts/news/notes from Las Vegas Live, Fab 48 and adidas Super 64:

Andre Drummond, CBC | adidas Super 64: In his matchup against Kaleb Tarczewski and the New England Playaz, the top-rated big man proved his worth. It was just his just overall display of athleticism or his speed but it was his aggressiveness. Early in the game, he rushed to the rim to take advantage of opportunities. In the end, he was trusted to score the game-winning bucket and he did just so. The CBC big man simply put on a show for the likes of John Calipari and Roy Williams and more who were all in attendance.

Aaron Gordon, Oakland Soldiers | Fab 48: Its obvious now, the Soldiers are the most athletic and individually talented team on the circuit - Nike or Adidas. With a boatload of major Division 1 talent, Gordon still emerged as a standout performer. Yes, he finished numerous putback dunks on misses. Yes, he awed the crowd with one of his many tough finishes. But more than anything, his competitiveness offensively and defensively, regardless of the score, stood out. Showing off his ability to operate in the open court, he also finished with 21 points.

Rasheed Sulaimon, Houston Hoops | Las Vegas Live: The No. 22 Houston Hoops squad found themselves in a dogfight early against a feisty Utah Select team. With Mike Krzyzewski, Jeff Capel and Steve Wojciechowski looking on, the Duke-commit stepped his game up in the second half to virtually will his team to victory. Sulaimon showed his complete skill set, using the bounce to penetrate in the lane, hit mid-range jumpers and even rebound the basketball.

Amile Jefferson, Team Philly | Fab 48: In his matchup against his former Team Philly teammate and Villanova-commit Savon Goodman, the forward showed out. Putting on a display of impressive footwork and post moves, he was able to score in the post and from outside. He led his unranked squad to a win over a Top-10 NJ Playaz team. He finished with 28 points.

Notes:

  • Isaac Hamilton who also played with Oakland Soldiers at Peach Jam is playing with Team Jennings this weekend.
  • Notable NBA players in attendance: Leon Powe (Oakland Soldiers), J.R. Smith (Playaz Basketball Club), John Wall (D-1 Sports)
  • Oakland Soldiers alums Kiwi Gardner (Providence) and Kyle Wiltjer (Kentucky) were in attendance and on the bench supporting their former program.
  • Former USC-commit Katin Reinhardt is playing alongside Arizona-commit Grant Jerrett for Belmont Shore in the Fab 48 this weekend.
