With three talented teams on the AAU circuit this summer, Team SCAN did not disappoint. Their 16U program, led by 3rd Team All-American, Chris McCullough, finished the summer as the No. 1 ranked team in the Five-Star Top 25. In addition, their 15U and 14U teams were both ranked No. 2 in their respective brackets.

“At our current state as a program, the 16U team is acting as the blueprint to how we conduct ourselves both on and off the court,” says Team SCAN director and 16U head coach, Terrence “Munch” Williams.

Williams has high praise for the younger teams as well, stating, “The 15U [team] has acted as the model of consistency since day one by the way they continue to rack up hardware. The 14U has the best coaching and most talent on any team I’ve seen, so it’s safe to say they will be dangerous for years to come.”

Championship wins were nothing out of the ordinary for Team SCAN, and the trophies piled up as the summer progressed.

16U: Most recently, McCullough and co. brought home the championship from the Las Vegas Fab 48. The New York City-based team defeated No. 2 Team Loaded in the finals. In addition, Team SCAN won the Rumble in the Bronx in June, led by MVP Shavar Newkirk. On their way to championship glory, Team SCAN defeated a pair of ranked programs in The City and CIA Bounce. Team SCAN’s 16U program proved to be lethal throughout the entire summer, finishing with an extraordinary 53-4 record.

15U: Team SCAN 16U wasn’t the only team in their program to win a title in Sin City, as their 15U squad took home the Fab 48 championship as well. The 15U team held trophies up high on many occasions this summer, winning titles at the GymRat Challenge, King of the Rock, Hall of Fame New England, Hall of Fame NIT and NJ Roadrunners Tournament en route to a 43-4 Summer record.

14U: A third place finish at the AAU Nationals is a sign of what Team SCAN’s 14U program accomplished this summer. The 14U team joins the aforementioned programs with a bevy of championship wins that includes New York Regionals as well as bball Spotlight.

McCullough, one of the nation’s top recruits in the class of 2014, is proud to be part of the Five-Star Program of the Year. “Team SCAN winning Program of the Year is proof that what I’ve been telling people for the last two years is true,” says the versatile forward.

“We have the best of both worlds in this program; the highest academic and basketball assistance in the country,” continued the prized recruit.

Coach Williams adds, “At the end of the day the chase for greatness if flowing throughout the program.”

There is no doubting Team SCAN’s impact on the AAU scene and next summer should be no different for the talented program, both on and off the court.
