Power Rankings Profile: South Kent
Ledo's leads a crew capabale of being the best in the nation
Some of the best talent resides in the New England Prep school leagues and South Kent is no exception. Last year, the school produced St. John's forward Maurice Harkless. NBA talents Dorrell Wright, Isaiah Thomas and Andray Blatche have also walk through the South Kent doors. This year the squad is headlined by Providence-bound Ricardo Ledo. With top teams on their schedule and with its current state of talent, expect to hear about this bunch all season long.
Strengths: Scoring
There is no doubt that this team can fill up the bucket with anybody in the nation. Over three contests, they are averaging 95.1 buckets a game. Anchoring the scoring load is Ricardo Ledo who is one of the best scorers in the country. Chris Thomas is a highly ranked junior looking at a couple of schools that can play with the best of them. On the inside, 6'11'' Laimonas Chatkevicius and his versatile skilled are signed up for Kansas State. Keep an eye out for Isaac Freeman who impressed a number of scouts this past weekend at the New England Prep Showcase.
Weakness: Defensive consistency
At times, this team show glimpses of being good on the defensive end but overall it might not be enough to end up at the top of the Power Rankings by season's end. When you have elite scoring capabilities like this team does, one can have the tendency to let up at the other side of the ball. With battles lined up against No. 1 Brewster, No. 3 Tilton and No. 8 New Hampton this season, they better bring it - one both sides of the ball.
Next up: 112/2 vs. Worcester Academy
