East coast powers face off in UA one-night event
St. Frances plays Quality Education, then Patterson takes on Lincoln
Under Armour is bringing together four elite east coast high school teams for one night of competitive basketball at Towson University in Maryland on Dec. 17. The first game of the I-95 Elite H.S. Showcase tips at 6 p.m. and features St. Frances Academy (Baltimore) and Quality Education Academy (Winston-Salem). In the second game, Patterson High School (Baltimore) will face Abraham Lincoln (New York) at 8 p.m.
The first game of Dwayne Wise and Mark Karcher’s event will also include three high-profile Division I prospects. For Quality Education, Dayton commit Jevon Thomas joins teammate and Georgetown commit Brandon Bolden against St. Frances’s Tevon Saddler. Saddler, a three-star recruit according to ESPN, is looking at Towson, Maryland and N.C. State. The Panthers also boast UNLV-commit Daquan Cook and are in the “Best of the Rest” category in our power rankings. This will be a chance for them to make their case for a spot in the Top 25.
Meanwhile in the second matchup, Patterson’s Aquille Carr is the first name that jumps off the page. Carr is a point guard who is considering UConn, Louisville, Wake Forest and others. He will go up against Lincoln’s combo guard Isaiah Whitehead, who is looking at Syracuse, Rutgers, Pittsburgh, St. John’s and others.
