Five-Star Top 25: 17U : May 25, 2011

Plenty of head-to-head Top 25 matchups to take place in LA, Chicago and N.O.

After a light week of action, things on the circuit heat up with major events taking place all across the country. A whopping 13 of this week's Five-Star Top 25 teams will be in L.A. this weekend for EYBL's final session before Peach Jam next month, with many of those squads squaring off head-to-head. Events in Chicago, New Orleans and another in Southern California will all feature fields with multiple ranked teams.

Haven't played since EYBL Dallas, but a perfect 17-0 heading into EYBL L.A. this weekend where they'll face No. 21 Spiece, King James, E1T1, Howard Pulley & Seattle Rotary.

Also undefeated on the year at 21-0, the Harrison twins, Shaq Cleare, Derrick Griffin and Co. head to New Orleans this weekend where a potential bout with No. 13 Atlanta Celtics hangs in the balance.

Head west after taking the Jr. Boys State title over Mid State Ballerz last weekend. YOMCA faces two Top 25 teams in Cali - No. 15 All-Ohio Red & No. 24 Mac Irvin, but they'll have Shaq Goodwin in tow.

Off last weekend, head to LA for EYBL where they face No. 24 Mac Irvin; Nerlens Noel-Jhalil Okafor matchup will be a goodie!

Oakland, Calif.
Off again last weekend, they only face one Top 25 team in LA which just may be what they need to catch No. 1 Team Takeover in the EYBL standings.

Houston, Tex.
Make the trip to Cali with only one EYBL blemish thus far, they'll face CP3 and the Arkansas Wings in LA. Purvis and Goodwin going against Hoops' three stud guards will be one to see.

Springfield, Mass.
Back at it this weekend in Connecticut where the field includes No. 12 Connecticut Basketball Club, No. 19 New Heights and No. 18 L.I. Lightning.

Las Vegas, Nev.
After taking the last two events they've played in, Jayhawk and EBO, Shabazz Muhammad and his crew are off until July.

After staying mostly local the past few weeks, the Playaz hit EYBL LA where a No. 9-10 matchup with CIA Bounce is slated.

See above, our northern neighbors also face No. 20 Boo Williams out in LA.

Norcross, Ga.
Meet three Top 25 squads in California - No. 9 Playaz, No. 14 All-Iowa Attack and No. 20. Boo Williams.

Last time out they won the BasketBull HOF Event without Andre Drummond; the big fella will be back this weekend at the Memorial Day Invitational in New London where a potential matchup with Kaleb Tarczewski lurks.

Head down to New Orleans where a matchup with No. 2 Houston Defenders would be great, except for the fact that the C's won't have Shaq Goodwin or Solomon Poole.

Haven't lost in weeks after taking Spiece and its state qualifier, but will need to stay sharp to keep the streak alive against No. 11 Georgia Stars and No. 20 Boo Williams in LA.

Won its event in Columbus last weekend, beating King James in the finals; the Red will see No. 3 YOMCA and No. 24 Mac Irvin in LA.

Milwaukee, Wis.
Played shorthanded last week and lost at home in Milwaukee without star wing Deonte Burton, they'll need him back for the loaded field in Chicago where they matchup with Texas Pro in pool play.

Phoenix, Ariz.
Went 5-0 en route to the title at the Southwest Showcase last week, its third win of the season, the Magic host an event this weekend in the desert.

West Hempstead, N.Y.
Took the last few weeks off, but back at it in a tough NERR Memorial Day Invitational field.

Off last weekend, but head north to Connecticut for NERR's event where the field includes New England Playaz and CBC.

Off last week, but they'll face three Top 15 teams in LA - No. 10 CIA Bounce, No. 11 Georgia Stars and No. 14 All-Iowa Attack.

Fort Wayne, Ind.
Have struggled of late, fell to Indiana Elite's second team last time out at Spiece; gets no easier by any stretch of the imagination with No. 1 Takeover & No. 5 Oakland Soldiers on the sked at EYBL.

40-1 and won in Minnesota the last time they played; Isaiah Austin and Co. face their toughest field yet in Chicago with TP Elite, SYF, Houston Hoopstars and Indy Elite.

This talented bunch still haven't been able to breakthrough with a tourney win, this weekend in the Windy City will be a huge test.

Knocked off the Illinois Wolves and Warriors in Barrington, Ill. last week; the Fire called up Jahlil Okafor for bouts with BABC, YOMCA and All-Ohio Red.

Starting to get it rolling after a big win at the Adidas May Classic two weeks ago, they should be in contention in a watered down Gibbons field.
