Five-Star Top 25: 17U: July 27, 2011

One more shakeup

With the season winding down, pretty much every team was in action this week. Whether it was a trip to Vegas for the Super 64 or a flight to Orlando for the Super Showcase, ranked teams had plenty of chances to make one last statement for why they should be the Five-Star Summer National Champion.

*Please note that this week's rankings are based on games played thru Tuesday end of day and DO NOT include Wednesday's Orlando results.

One of many teams in Orlando, BABC rebounded from a stunning early loss to the Ohio Shooting Stars with a thrilling victory over SYF and a rout of the Georgia Stars.

Their only blemish this week was a triple overtime loss to Hoops Heaven Elite in the quarterfinals fo the Super Showcase.

Though they had an early exit in Vegas, it's hard to punish a team with just three losses all year.

Dream Vision had a great run in the Super 64, but lost in the title game to Texas Assault.

Washington, D.C.
Since falling out of the top spot, they've taken care of business, reaching the Final Four in Orlando.

Don't let their crushing loss to BABC fool you — this club has beaten some good teams, including the former No. 1 Team Takeover.

Indianapolis, Ind.
A strong adidas Super 64 run for Indy Elite ended with a loss to Dream Vision in the semis in Vegas.

Houston, Texas
The Defenders took care of business at the Super Showcase against overmatched competition.

Still in the top 10 after a trip to Las Vegas.

A first round loss at Fab 48 to Seattle Rotary drops them a bit this week.

Brampton, Ontario
Some questionable losses to unranked teams hurt the Canadians.

Gary, Ind.
Mitch McGary's squad continues its surprising rise in the rankings, with its only loss coming to BABC at the Super Showcase.

Hartford, Conn.
After a disastrous last few weeks, CBC is back in the rankings after knocking off a trio of ranked teams last week.

Springfield, Mass.
Their loss to CBC isn't so bad, but they couldn't afford to lose to Family First or the Michigan Mustangs at this point in the season.

New Orleans, La.
A strong run out west ended with a quarterfinal loss to Indiana Elite at adidas Super 64.

Dallas, Tex.
Texas Assault vaults into the rankings this week after repeating at adidas Super 64, where they handled No. 4 Dream Vision in the chip.

Houston, Tex.
Texas Pro keeps its spot in the Top 20 and is one of four ranked teams from the Lonestar State.

New York, N.Y.
New Heights had a chance to come away with some big W's, but lost to New Orleans Elite and Dream Vision in Vegas.

Atlanta, Ga.
The Celtics lost some close games this week, but could have made a statement had they beaten Dream Vision.

St. Petersburg, Fla.
The Rams were poised to enter the Top 10 last week, but sub-par play this week drops them five spots.

They are back in the Top 25 after beating Mac Irvin en route to the Fab 48 championship.

Made it to the championship game at the Las Vegas Live event, but was upset by Texas D1 Ambassadors San Antonio.
