AAU Nationals, Super Showcase, End of Summer help solidify rankings

The final summer rankings are in place. With most teams playing right up until the end of the season there were plenty of chances for a shakeup in the rankings. Read on to see who moved up, who moved down, who dropped out, and who cracked the Top  25 for the first time all season.

Boston, Mass.
BABC couldn’t have finished off their season any stronger, went undefeated at Nationals, knocking off No. 6 CP3, No. 4 Garner Road, No. 12 Ohio Varsity and No. 16 Takeover en route to being named AAU National Champions, cementing their spot at the top.

Brampton, Ontario
CIA Bounce competed right up to the end of the season and won the Super Showcase in Orlando. Their big win over No. 4 Garner Road is the final stamp on a dominant summer season.

Indianapolis, Ind.
EG10 finished up their summer season as finalists at Adidas Super 64 last week and remain in our third spot.

Raleigh, N.C.
Placed second at Super Showcase (lost to No. 2 CIA Bounce in the finals) and finished in 5th place at AAU Nationals where they beat the likes of No. 22 The Ville and No. 13 All Ohio Red.

Memphis, Tenn.
YOMCA drops one spot in our rankings after a lukewarm showing at Nationals that included three losses to unranked teams (Ray Jackson's Rising Stars, Oakland Kings, Carolina Hurricanes).

Raleigh, N.C.
CP3 was hot and cold at Nationals this past week. While they finished perfect in pool play, they lost to No. 1 BABC in the playoffs and Indiana Elite South in the 3rd round consolation bracket.

New York, N.Y.
New Heights stays at the No. 7 spot after winning the End of Summer Classic that included wins over the Juice All-Stars and Team Philly.

Philadelphia, Pa.
Team Final keeps the same ranking as they finished their season after being knocked out of the Super Showcase last week.

Baltimore, Md.
The Baltimore crew dropped their first game to the Jersey Shore Warriors at the End of Summer Classic, but we can't penalize them as nearly all of their 16's were playing up with the 17's.

Newark, N.J.
Sports U rounds out our Top 10 after a stellar late-season push. They went undefeated at the Double Pump Best of Summer, but a scheduling conflict forced them to fly home after the quarterfinals.
11 13 up
Columbus, Ohio
Ohio Varsity moves up one spot in our rankings after defeating No. 24 New York Guachos to earn 3rd place at AAU Nationals.
12 16 up
Columbus, Ohio
They move up in our rankings after a decent performance at AAU Nationals that ended with a 6th place finish.
13 12 down
Chicago, Ill.
Meanstreets finishes the year at No. 13. Kendrick Nunn and Co. should be one of the top midwestern teams going into next season.
14 15 up
West Hempstead, N.Y.
We can't fault them for only going 1-2 at the Desert Duel as they were playing up with the 17s. They move up to No. 14 in our final rankings.
15 18 up
The Playaz 16s were off, but big man Mike Young helped the 17s win the End of Summer Classic in Reading, Pa.
16 24 up
Washington, D.C.
A second place finish at Nationals that included wins over No. 22 The Ville and No. 24 Gauchos moves Takeover up to the No. 16 spot in our rankings.
17 11 down
Kansas City, Mo.
Followed up an impressive Super 64 title run with a final four run at the KC Prep Invitational before falling to No. 25 St. Louis Eagles.
18 19 up
The North Carolina crew lands at No. 18 to finish the season. Check out stud guard Kadeem Allen in our Play of the Day.
19 20 up
Atlanta, Ga.
The Knicks move up a spot after reaching the final four of the Best of Summer Classic in Cali.
20 up
Little Rock, Ark.
A blowout win over No. 21 Mac Irvin Fire and a W over Seattle Rotary puts this team in our Top 25 right before it's too late.
21 14 down
Chicago, Ill.
They're not getting punished for playing up with the 17s at Desert Duel, but they drop after their poor showing at Fab 48 that included a drubbing by No. 20 Arkansas Hawks.
22 23 up
Louisville, Ky.
They move up to the No. 22 spot after playing well at AAU Nationals. They knocked off No. 4 Garner Road in pool play and eventually won the 4th round consolation championship.
23 22 down
Townsend, Del.
They drop on spot after going 1-1 (W vs. Sportsfest Achievers, L vs. Jersey Shore Warriors) at the End of Summer Classic.
24 up
New York, N.Y.
The Gauchos came to Nationals ready to play. They beat No. 13 All-Ohio Red and despite losing to No. 17 Team Takeover and No. 12 Ohio Varsity they still finished the overall tournament in 4th place.
25 up
St. Louis, Mo.
Returns to our Top 25 after a month-long hiatus after taking out No. 17 KC Pump N' Run at the KC Prep Invitational.
