High School Power Rankings: November 23, 2011

La Lumiere jumps five spots in this week's list

Not too many shake-ups in the Power Rankings as the schedules have been light for the most part. Expect a change after Turkey Day with numerous Top 25 teams doing battle. This past week, we did see a Top 25 matchup with previously-ranked No. 25 La Lumiere vs. No. 20 Vermont Academy. See how their tilt switched up the rankings below.

Of note, Hargrave Military Academy notched two wins against radar squads Notre Dame Prep and Bridgton Academy. Another solid week of play and you could see them jump into the mix.

Weekly Report: Had a resounding season-opening win versus Kiski School at the New England Prep School Showcase. They were up 51-19 at halftime. Scouts raved about the defensive prowess of Nerlens Noel and Goodluck Okonoboh.

Weekly Report: South Kent took care of business this week, beating La Jolla and St. John’s Military at the National Prep Showcase. Providence commit Ricardo Ledo had 37 points in the win over La Jolla, then he and Isaac Freeman helped hold off a pesky St. John’s Military squad on day two.

Weekly Report: Between Southern Illinois-bound 5-10 guard Antonio Drummond, Purdue-bound 6-5 shooting guard Raphael Davis and 6-9 Indiana-bound Hanner Perea, La Lumiere was clicking on all cylinders this weekend. Two double-digit wins move them up in the rankings.

Weekly Report: Vermont poured 93 points on La Lumiere at the National Prep Showcase, but surprisingly that was not enough, as La Lumiere put up 102. Trey Davis, Dominic Woodson and Donelle Unda combined for 60 points for Vermont in the losing effort.
