14U Power Rankings: Week 1: April 11, 2012

Cali Style holds onto top spot

As a result of Boo Williams handling our former No. 1 ranked team, D.C. Assault, with a beatdown at the Spring Fling a week and a half ago, Cali Style has jumped up a spot and Boo Williams lands at No. 5 thanks to their impressive showing. Team Bibby leaps up two spots thanks to their effort at the Las Vegas Easter Showdown

California Basketball Club
Los Angeles, Calif.

Codi Riley, a big man from the class of 2017, has this team at No. 1. Team Scan is making its claim having won its first two tournaments of the season.

2 3 up
New Orleans, La.

The name might have changed from Louisiana Select from Dunk Dog but the characters and the games are still the same. Khalea Turner is still a beast.

3 4 up
New York, N.Y.

This team took home the honors two weekends ago at the Spring Fling. They took out Boo Williams in the finals, who was fresh off mercy ruling D.C. Assault. Assault was No. 1 last week.

4 5 up
Las Vegas, Nev.

Try to wrap your head around this one: The Dream Vision 14s played up with the 15s, while Stephen Zimmerman, who will play this year with the 16s, played with them. All that adds up to the Dream Vision 14U team winning the 15U division at the Las Vegas Easter Showdown.

5 up
Boo Williams

After seeing them mercy rule D.C. Assault at the Playaz’ Spring Fling event a couple weeks ago, Boo Williams has to crack the Power Rankings — even if they lost in the title game to Team SCAN.

6 8 up
Phoenix, Ariz.

Not sure anyone can say they showed the amount of dominance that Team Bibby demonstrated this weekend at the Las Vegas Easter Showdown. They won the championship, but were most impressive in pool play where they won their four games by an AVERAGE of 40 points.

7 7 none
Washington, D.C.

With teams ranked at all levels, it appears Keith Stevens is building something special in the DMV area.

8 1 down
Washington, D.C.

After having the mercy rule applied by Boo Williams, the Assault dropped seven spots to the No. 8 position. If they want to stay in the rankings, they’ll have to pick up their intensity.

9 6 down

They didn’t play last weekend, but they will be playing on April 20 at the Basketbull New England Championships

10 9 down
Norcross, Ga.

The Stars had the week off, but they’re hoping to begin their AAU season with a bang at the King James Southern Exposure event in Augusta, Ga.
