14U Power Rankings: Week 9: June 14, 2012

MIT shakes up the rankings

Thanks to the Maryland Invitational Tournament, some of the best teams in the country got to face each other this weekend. In the end, D.C. Assault was the last team standing and they have been rewarded. Meanwhile Team Loaded made the Final Four and beat yet another ranked team, so they enter the top ten for the first time this year.

Cali Style played up in a 17U tournament out west and made it to the championship game.

D.C. Assault makes a big jump this week after winning MIT. They beat Team Takeover and Karolina Diamonds en route to the championship.

Key Championship: New York Regionals
Key Loss: Dunk Dog

Team SCAN was off this week, but their résumé is stili impressive.

Memphis, Tenn.

Key Loss: Dunk Dog

Team Penny was off this week and rounds out the top five.

Phoenix, Ariz.

Team Bibby won the ACES tournament out west, so their spot at No. 6 is safe, despite teams around them earning higher quality wins.

Key Wins: Dream Vision, Boo Williams, Playaz Basketball Club

Team Loaded finally cracks the top ten after making it to the Final Four at MIT. They have been accumulating quality wins all year and are well-deserving of their spot.

Key Championship: EBO (15U)

Dream Vision went without 6'9'' Michael Cage Jr. and paid the price, ultimately losing to Team Loaded.

Key Loss: Karolina Diamonds (Super Regional)

Boo Williams made it to the final 16 at MIT before losing.

Key Win: Georgia Stars
Key Loss: D.C. Assault (x2)

 

Takeover had a nice win over the Georgia Stars at MIT, but still could not beat eventual champion D.C. Assault.
